A handsome vintage yew wood pedestal desk, offering a timeless Georgian-inspired design with excellent storage and a warm, rich colour throughout. With its classic proportions and attractive figured yew grain, this is an elegant desk suited to a home office, study or reception room.
 
 
The desk features a traditional green leather inset writing surface with decorative gilt tooling, surrounded by a yew wood border. There are nine drawers in total, all fitted with matching swan-neck brass handles. The drawers run smoothly and provide ample storage for stationery, paperwork and office essentials.
 
 
The desk separates into three sections (two pedestals and the top), making transportation and positioning within the home much easier.
 
 
Condition;
Presented in good vintage condition overall. The leather writing surface shows age-related fading and light wear consistent with use but remains sound and full of character. The wooden surround has some small surface scratches, while the sides remain in good order. The back shows some fading, allowing the desk to be used freestanding if desired. There is a small section of trim missing from the bottom right drawer, and the lower three drawers on the left-hand pedestal have some light areas of discolouration (these are not scratches). Overall, the desk is solid, sturdy and displays beautifully with a lovely warm yew finish.
