Vintage Oak Monk’s Bench
A characterful vintage oak monk’s bench with beautiful carved detailing and classic panelled construction. Rich in colour and traditional styling, this versatile piece works wonderfully in a hallway, boot room, dining area or country-style interior.
The hinged seat lifts to reveal a generous internal storage compartment, ideal for shoes, blankets or everyday household storage. The back panel also folds down smoothly to create a table-top surface, giving the piece added practicality and charm.
The bench is solid and sturdy overall, with attractive aged oak grain and carved floral decoration across the front and upper rail. There is some small historic woodworm to the rear, along with a slightly darker mark to the centre of the seat lid as shown in the photographs.
Please note the lid/back panel slides down the rear quite smoothly, so care should be taken when moving or lowering it.
Overall, a good solid vintage example with plenty of character and practical storage.
