Vintage Oak Draw Leaf Dining Table – Barley Twist Base
 
 
A handsome and substantial vintage oak draw leaf dining table, combining a wonderfully characterful oak top with an attractive traditional barley twist base.
 
 
The table is a particularly useful size, seating comfortably as an everyday dining table when closed, while the two draw leaves pull out easily to extend the table to an impressive 217cm in length – ideal when additional dining space is required.
 
 
The base is solid and sturdy, with beautifully turned barley twist legs joined by stretchers, giving the table plenty of character and presence.
 
 
Condition: Solid, sturdy and fully functional with marks, wear and signs of previous use commensurate with its age. There is a noticeable difference in colour between the central tabletop and the two extension leaves. This is consistent with the table having predominantly been used in its closed position, leaving the extension leaves less exposed to light and everyday use. There are also some scratches, marks and areas of wear to the top, including the more noticeable marks shown in the photographs. We feel these add to the aged character of the piece, but they are clearly mentioned for accuracy.
 
 
The draw-leaf mechanism operates easily and the table is conveniently constructed so that it can be dismantled into four main sections for easier transportation: the two extension leaves, central tabletop and base frame.
 
 
A wonderfully practical piece of vintage oak furniture with plenty of character, equally suited to a traditional interior or used as a statement piece in a more contemporary setting.
