Vintage Mahogany Bureau Bookcase / Combination Cabinet
A charming and unusual vintage mahogany bureau bookcase, combining useful book storage, a writing desk and drawers within one compact piece.
The left-hand cupboard opens to reveal three internal shelves, ideal for books or general storage. To the right is a fall-front writing section which opens to reveal a leather writing surface, fitted pigeonholes and a small central drawer. Beneath are three further drawers, providing additional storage.
The cabinet has an attractive warm mahogany colour and grain, with decorative metal handles, carved detailing along the gallery top and claw-and-ball feet giving it plenty of traditional character.
Overall in good vintage condition with expected marks and wear from age and use. The upper drawer handles are slightly different from those fitted to the lower drawers but suit the piece well. Inside the left cupboard, a screw can be seen passing down into the left claw-and-ball foot; the legs nevertheless appear solid and stable. Please see photographs for the overall condition.
