Victorian Walnut Sideboard
 
A handsome Victorian walnut sideboard offering generous storage, attractive carved detailing and a warm, rich patina developed over many years. With four cupboard doors, three drawers and elegant turned legs, this is a practical statement piece that would suit both period and contemporary interiors.
 
 
The beautifully carved floral panels and quality brass hardware give the piece plenty of character, while the generous proportions make it ideal for use in a dining room, hallway or living space.
 
 
Condition Overall, the sideboard is solid and presents very well for its age.
* Three top drawers with decorative brass handles, 
   all running smoothly.
* Four cupboard doors below providing excellent 
   storage.
* The right-hand cupboard contains one fixed shelf.
* The centre cupboard contains one fixed shelf.
* The left-hand cupboard is open internally without 
   a shelf.
* Brass cupboard handles have been fitted prior to 
   our ownership, making the doors much easier to
   open. They could be removed and replaced with  
   period-appropriate fittings if preferred.
* The top shows signs of a previous back gallery 
   having once been fitted, together with age-related
   discolouration and a natural split in the timber.  
   The top remains solid and structurally sound.
* Sides are in good overall condition.
* The rear section of the left-hand back leg is 
   missing a small cover piece, although this is in a 
   darker, less noticeable area.
* The right-hand rear leg has a small age-related 
   split.
* Expected marks, wear and imperfections 
   throughout, all consistent with the age of a 
   genuine Victorian piece.
*Signs of historic woodworm which is inactive and has been treated
