Victorian Stripped Pine Base With Single Drawer Over Two Doors
Victorian Stripped Pine Sideboard / Cupboard
Circa 1860–1890
A charming mid–late Victorian pine sideboard, later stripped to reveal a warm, rustic surface that suits both traditional and modern interiors.
The piece is raised on four turned legs, giving it a lighter appearance while remaining sturdy and practical. The front features one full-width drawer above two panelled cupboard doors, offering generous storage. The doors close neatly and securely; while there is no original key mechanism, a discreet alternative lock could be added if desired.
The pine has developed a lovely colour over time, with characterful marks and wear consistent with age. The top has a pleasing rustic look, very much in keeping with the period and style. Evidence of historic woodworm is visible to the right side, which has been treated and is now inactive.
A solid, honest Victorian piece with simple proportions and versatile use — ideal as a sideboard, hallway cupboard, or kitchen storage.
