Victorian Pitch Pine Pew
Victorian Pitch Pine Pew
A substantial Victorian pitch pine pew of traditional church form, offering solid seating for up to three people. Well made and sturdy, with rich colour and strong grain characteristic of pitch pine.
The pew features shaped ends with visible pegged construction and a pleasing aged patina developed over many years of use.
There are signs of historic woodworm in places, visible in the photographs. This is old, inactive, and fully treated, with no impact on structural integrity. There is also a natural age-related shrinkage split to the front edge of the seat, which is cosmetic only and typical of solid timber of this age.
Overall, a solid, honest piece with character and presence.
