Victorian Mahogany Triple Wardrobe / Compactum With Associated Cornice
Victorian Mahogany Triple Wardrobe / Compactum
A charming late mahogany Victorian three-door wardrobe / compactum with plenty of storage and classic presence.
Design: Three doors – the central door with a mirror panel, set on a pin swivel hinge for removal. The crown is not original but complements the piece well.
Condition:
• Base shows some chipping and evidence of being re-fixed, possibly shortened in the past, though it stands firm when assembled.
• Expected age-related veneer chipping to door edges.
• Left door lacks a lock mechanism but closes securely.
• Central mirror door is a little stiff but functions well.
• Right door retains its working lock and key.
Interior:
• Left section: top slider, small hanging rail, four hooks, and a base drawer (missing most of its front knob but opens easily).
• Double section: long hanging rail, four drawers, and provision for sliders or shelves if desired.
This wardrobe has been well-used and sympathetically maintained, with imperfections that add to its antique character. A substantial and functional piece of Victorian storage.
Dimensions:
• Overall: W188.5 cm (crown), D61.5 cm (m. (crown), H203.5 cm
• Largest section: W113 cm, D55 cm, H179 cm
