A magnificent large Victorian mahogany pedestal sideboard, featuring beautifully figured mahogany, decorative carved detailing and an impressive raised gallery back. This substantial piece has a traditional kneehole design, with two pedestal cupboards supporting a generously sized tabletop. The raised gallery features elegant carved scrollwork, while the cupboard doors display attractive arched panels with decorative carved accents.

The sideboard offers excellent storage, with three drawers running across the top and spacious compartments within each pedestal.

Condition:

Good antique condition overall, with age-related wear consistent with its Victorian origins. The tabletop has some minor blemishes and areas of discolouration, while the gallery back remains in good condition. There are some areas of missing veneer around the lower bases of both pedestals. The left pedestal’s sliding trays have some missing front trim, although both remain functional. Inside the right pedestal, there is a section of missing wood beneath the wine drawer. This is concealed when the cupboard is closed and does not significantly affect its use.

All three upper drawers operate well.

No key is present for the cupboard doors.

A wonderfully imposing Victorian sideboard that would make a beautiful statement piece in a dining room, hallway or period interior.
