Set of Six Victorian Mahogany Dining Chairs
Set of Six Victorian Mahogany Dining Chairs
A handsome set of six Victorian mahogany dining chairs, with attractive shaped frames and traditional bergère-style cane seat bases.
The chairs are supplied with thick, solid removable seat pads, constructed from substantial wooden bases with strapping and upholstered in a deep green leather-style material.
The upholstery shows some general age-related wear and marks but remains perfectly presentable and usable. Beneath the seat pads are the original-style bergère/cane seat bases. Two of the six have some damage: one has more substantial damage to the cane, as pictured, while another has a small amount of fraying.
As the chairs are designed to be used with the solid seat pads in place, this does not affect their everyday use and is largely concealed once the cushions are fitted. The mahogany frames are all solid and sturdy, particularly considering their age. There are various small signs of previous repairs, along with the expected knocks, marks and general wear associated with antique furniture, but all six chairs remain solid and usable.
A lovely practical set of genuine Victorian chairs, with the rich mahogany frames contrasting particularly well against the green upholstery.
