A substantial and beautifully crafted Late Victorian oak sideboard, rich in detail and presence. This impressive piece boasts carved decoration, excellent storage, and the warm depth of genuine period oak.
Key Features: Solid Oak Construction: Heavy, well-built and full of Victorian character, with a warm and even colour throughout.
Sideboard Top: Flat and solid, showing marks indicative of a former back mirror—typical for sideboards of this era. Shaped bowed corners with decorative turned baubles beneath, flowing elegantly into the front supports.
Storage Layout: Three top drawers, all running smoothly. Three lower cupboards with a single working key (left door slightly stiff but functional). Interior fitted with three fixed shelves plus a wine drawer on the right-hand side. Shelves and drawers are lined in patterned vintage paper—clean and non-sticky, easily removable if preferred.
Carved Details: Attractive carved panels to the cupboard fronts and decorative mouldings throughout. Sturdy bracketed base with shapely apron.
Hardware: All original brass handles, polished and in keeping with the period.
Condition: Very good overall with expected light age-related wear.
