Late 19th Century Carolean Style Throne Chair
Late 19th Century Carolean Style Throne Chair
A chair of noble bearing and stately proportion, this Carolean-style throne chair in stained beech wood dates from the late 19th century. Its gracefully down-swept arms, adorned with carved acanthus scroll terminals, evoke the grandeur of the Restoration era.
Recently re-upholstered in an elegant neutral fabric, the seat and back are finished with a border of hand-applied stud detailing, lending a refined and timeless appeal. The chair rests on turned forelegs and plain rear supports, united by a conforming H-stretcher for both strength and symmetry.
A commanding yet versatile piece — equally suited to a drawing room, study, or hall.
Dimensions: 113cm (overall height) / 48cm (seat height) × 62cm (width) × 66cm (depth).
