Large Victorian Flame Mahogany Sideboard
 
 
A handsome and substantial Victorian flame mahogany sideboard, featuring beautiful figured mahogany panels, decorative carved detailing and contrasting ebonised accents. Originally designed as the base of a larger mirror-backed sideboard, this piece works wonderfully as a standalone sideboard, offering an impressive amount of storage and plenty of character.
 
 
The front features three drawers across the top, with four panelled cupboard doors beneath. The doors display attractive flame mahogany grain, complemented by carved decorative brackets and ebonised detailing.
 
 
Inside, the left-hand cupboard contains two sliding trays, while the central double cupboard provides a generous storage area with a single shelf. The right-hand cupboard features a shelf and a large pull-out drawer with a removable wooden bottle-storage fitting.
 
 
The sideboard stands on a substantial plinth base and is a particularly solid, heavy piece of furniture.
 
 
Condition: Overall, in good antique condition, with a lovely rich mahogany colour and attractive grain throughout. The top and sides are generally in good condition, showing only minor marks and wear consistent with age and use. There is some small chipping to the veneer around the lower plinth at the sides, where it meets the floor. Nothing particularly significant, but worth mentioning for accuracy.
 
 
As this was originally part of a larger mirror-backed sideboard, it is being sold as the base section only.
 
 
A beautiful and practical piece that would make an impressive addition to a dining room, living room or spacious hallway.
