An attractive original oil on canvas landscape painting, depicting a peaceful woodland scene with a small cottage nestled amongst mature trees, opening towards distant countryside and mountains beneath a bright blue sky.
The painting has particularly good texture and depth, with visible impasto and brushwork throughout the foreground and trees. It is signed to the lower left, although unfortunately we have been unable to confidently identify the artist from the signature.
Presented in a substantial and decorative gilt-effect swept frame, with ornate moulded detailing to the corners and centres. Its generous proportions make this a particularly striking decorative piece.
