George III Oak Freestanding Corner Cupboard
George III Oak Freestanding Corner Cupboard
A handsome George III and later freestanding corner cupboard, crafted in solid oak with a rich, time-worn patina that reflects its age and authenticity.
The moulded dentil cornice surmounts a pair of fielded panelled full-length doors, opening to reveal three fixed internal shelves, including one later fitter’s shelf — ideal for both display and storage. The cupboard stands firmly on compressed bracket feet, its proportions generous and well-balanced.
Beautifully aged with minor old holes to the back panels, entirely consistent with age and use. The piece remains solid, heavy, and sturdy, a true testament to 18th-century English craftsmanship.
