Edwardian Walnut Sheet Music Cabinet
Edwardian Walnut Sheet Music Cabinet with Glass Door & Velvet-Lined Shelves
A charming Edwardian walnut music cabinet, featuring a lovely warm finish, decorative brass gallery detailing and an attractive glazed front door. Originally designed for storing sheet music, the cabinet retains its traditional interior with four green velvet-lined shelves, three of which feature their original labels reading Sacred, Songs and Various.
The front glazed door opens and closes correctly and retains its decorative metal handle. The cabinet stands on small concealed castors, making it easier to move. The shaped top features an elegant brass gallery along the rear and sides, adding to its period character. The cabinet would make a lovely addition to a living room, music room, study or hallway, and could equally be used for storing books, paperwork or other smaller items.
Condition: Overall in good antique condition, with a lovely colour and finish. The top has one small blemish, while the sides and back are generally good. There is a small piece missing from the very bottom of the front right foot, although the cabinet stands perfectly well. The green velvet lining shows some age-related wear, as photographed.
