Edwardian Mahogany Piano Stool with Storage
A charming and practical Edwardian piano stool, constructed in mahogany with attractive slatted sides and a warm traditional finish.
The stool features a hinged lift-up seat, opening to reveal a useful storage compartment beneath, traditionally intended for sheet music and music books.
The seat is finished with a decorative red and gold patterned upholstered pad with fringed edging, adding plenty of period character. The frame has shaped arm supports with horizontal slatted detailing and stretcher supports below.
The stool remains solid and sturdy, with general marks, rubbing and wear to the timber consistent with its age and previous use. The hinged seat opens correctly and the internal storage compartment is clean and useful.
A lovely versatile piece, ideal as a piano or music stool, dressing stool, hallway seat or occasional bedroom seat, with the added benefit of concealed storage.
