Edwardian Oak Double Wardrobe
Edwardian Oak Double Wardrobe
A handsome Edwardian oak wardrobe, offering generous hanging and storage space with attractive panelled doors and warm, characterful oak grain.
The wardrobe features two full-length panelled doors, both of which are solid and close as they should. Each door is fitted with a decorative brass drop handle; one handle has a small section missing from its base, although this does not affect its use.
Internally, the wardrobe is divided into two separate open compartments, each fitted with a brass hanging rail and additional hanging hooks. There are approximately 12 fixed hooks positioned across the sides and back of the two compartments, providing plenty of practical storage. A small raised shelf sits at the bottom of each section.
The front and sides are generally in good condition for their age, with some areas of wear, variation in colour and discolouration consistent with an Edwardian piece.
Please note that this is predominantly a one-piece wardrobe. The top cornice can be removed, but the main body does not dismantle and is rather heavy, so access should be carefully considered before purchasing.
A substantial and practical period wardrobe that would work particularly well in a traditional, country or character bedroom.
