Edwardian Mahogany Two Drawer Two Door Sideboard with Carved Floral Detail

A charming Edwardian mahogany sideboard featuring attractive carved detailing, decorative brass drawer handles and a lovely warm wood finish.

The sideboard has two drawers above a pair of cupboard doors, providing useful storage for crockery, linens and other household essentials. Internally, the cupboard has a single shelf, offering plenty of practical accommodation.

The drawer fronts feature attractive reeded detailing, while the cupboard doors are beautifully carved with floral designs depicting flowers and foliage in decorative urns. The original-style brass drawer handles complement the traditional appearance of the piece.

Later knobs have been fitted to the cupboard doors. Although not original, they are practical and sit comfortably with the overall design.

The top has four holes where a mirrored back or superstructure would originally have been fitted, which is no longer present. These are visible in the photographs and form part of the piece’s history.

With its relatively compact depth and attractive proportions, this sideboard would make a lovely addition to a dining room, hallway or living room, offering both useful storage and traditional Edwardian character.

Condition

The sideboard is solid and sturdy, with general signs of age and use, including marks, scuffs, small chips and ring marks to the top. The four former mirror-back fixing holes are also present.
