Edwardian Framed Mahogany Nursing Chair
Edwardian Mahogany Framed Nursing Armchair
A handsome Edwardian mahogany framed nursing armchair, featuring an elegant combination of carved and turned detailing with a wonderfully comfortable upholstered seat and back.
The solid mahogany frame has an attractive rich colour, with shaped uprights, turned spindle detailing beneath the arms and beautifully turned front legs. The chair stands on four original-style castors, all of which move freely.
Upholstered in a subtle yellow-beige patterned fabric, with a deep buttoned back and generously padded seat and armrests. There are some areas of fading to the upholstery, most noticeably to the left arm and towards the front of the seat, together with minor signs of use consistent with age.
The frame itself remains solid and sturdy, with the aged finish and detailing giving the chair plenty of character.
An attractive statement armchair that would work beautifully in a period home, bedroom, reading corner or contrasted against a more contemporary interior.
