Edwardian Beech Framed Bergère Armchair
Edwardian Beech Framed Bergère Armchair
A very attractive Edwardian bergère armchair, beautifully constructed with a solid beech frame and woven cane panels to the sides and back.
The chair features elegant scrolling arms with turned supports and decorative cane panels, all raised on sturdy supports with a stretchered base. The frame has developed a rich, warm patina over time which enhances the overall character and charm of the piece.
The bergère cane work to the sides and back remains intact and in good order, showing the quality of craftsmanship typical of Edwardian furniture. The chair is fitted with loose cream upholstered seat and back cushions, making it a particularly comfortable piece while allowing it to blend easily with a wide range of interiors and décor styles.
A charming and practical antique armchair, ideal for a sitting room, reading corner, bedroom or study.
The piece shows light marks and wear consistent with age and use, but overall presents very well with a lovely mellow patina.
