An exceptionally elegant and opulent Continental reproduction desk, walnut veneered throughout and richly embellished with exquisite inlay and decorative gilded detailing.
 
The desk is fitted with a tooled leather writing surface to the top, which remains intact and presents very well, showing only a couple of light dimples consistent with gentle use. The surrounding walnut veneer displays excellent colour and grain, framed with fine inlay and decorative banding that enhances the refined appearance.
 
The frieze incorporates a central long drawer flanked by two smaller drawers, all fitted with decorative metal handles. The drawer fronts and panels are beautifully inlaid, adding depth and visual interest.
 
Raised on beautifully shaped tapering legs, each leg is further enhanced with ornate gilded decoration and terminates in gold-coloured metal feet. The desk is finished to a high standard on all sides, making it particularly well suited to central placement within a room where the decorative rear can be fully appreciated.
