19th Century Walnut Bureau with Fitted Interior
 
A handsome 19th century walnut bureau offering classic proportions and excellent storage. The rich walnut displays a warm tone and attractive grain, giving the piece a timeless appeal suited to both traditional and modern interiors.
 
The fall-front opens to reveal a well-fitted interior, including a sliding compartment, two small drawers, a central cupboard, pigeon holes and a green felt writing surface. The bureau is fitted with a working key and the fall locks securely. Below are four drawers to the base, each furnished with brass handles, providing generous additional storage.
 
The top and sides are in good condition. The fall-front shows signs of an old split but remains solid and functional. One side of the leaf does not sit perfectly flush when locked, though it closes and secures properly. A solid and practical antique bureau with plenty of character.
 
Condition
Good antique condition overall. Historic split to fall-front (stable), minor alignment variation to one side of the leaf, and general age-related wear.
