19th Century oak buffet sideboard
19th Century oak buffet sideboard
The sideboard is absolutely stunning with incredibly detailed carved faces across the back (possibly cherub heads) along with have carved detailing through the base and top.
It stands roughly 2m high and both sections are incredibly heavy so please take care when moving it around. It has two large open areas at the base on either flank perfect for a large ornament or plant. A cupboard centre with a slider one side and a shelf the other. Above the cupboard there are three drawers with large matching brass handles.
The sideboard top looks to have been sanded down to show the original colour of the oak. However the remainder of the sideboard is untouched by sanding.
Both top end pieces look to have been removed to slot the sideboard it into its previous home, however the wood beneath was stained dark (this possibly wasn’t visible where it previously stood) it doesn’t detract from the look of the sideboard.
The sideboard looks to have historic worm underneath however we have treated it.
Overall and beautiful statement piece.
