19th century Mahogany Glazed Bookcase
19th century Mahogany Glazed Bookcase
An impressive 19th century mahogany glazed bookcase of generous proportions, combining practical storage with classic Victorian styling. Crafted in rich mahogany with attractive grain throughout, this two-part piece separates for easier transport and positioning.
The upper section features two tall glazed doors with arched tops, opening to reveal a fully shelved interior. Inside, the cabinet is split centrally with eight adjustable shelves in total, offering excellent display or storage space for books, collectables, or decorative pieces. The doors open and close well and retain their original locking mechanism, although no key is present.
The lower section consists of five drawers fitted with decorative brass handles, all running smoothly. Ornate brass mounts adorn the sides and lower base, adding a refined decorative touch. The top lip of the base section has some bubbling, missing veneer between the drawers and the lower base also shows slight chipping in places, though nothing significant.
