Edwardian Satinwood Mirrored Door Wardrobe
This Edwardian satinwood hall robe features a striking central full-length bevelled mirror, flanked by intricately carved decorative panels, all resting on short bracketed supports. Internally, it offers ample storage with two spinning hooks, each holding four hooks, along with six hooks around the perimeter, all lined with green fabric. The robe also includes a full-length drawer at the bottom, complete with two decorative metal handles.
The robe boasts a beautiful patina developed over time, adding character. While there is some veneer missing on the rear flanks and traces of historic graffiti carved into the front panels (as shown in the photographs), these imperfections only enhance its unique charm. Though historic worm damage is visible, it has been treated and is now inactive.
Despite a few imperfections, this piece remains a sturdy and strong example of Edwardian craftsmanship, offering great storage space. Originally, the robe would have featured a decorative top, which is now missing, but it still maintains its versatile appeal, perfect for either a hallway or a bedroom.
