Edwardian Inlaid Mahogany Bureau Bookcase
Edwardian inlaid mahogany bureau bookcase having two glazed doors to the top enclosing three fully adjustable shelves over a drop down from with fitted interior, over three drawers which are furnished with decorative metal handles and resting on bracketed feet.
This is a lovely and very useful piece of furniture although we think it is a marriage of two halves.
The top book case slightly overhangs the back of the bureau - but it is secured with four screws.
Unfortunately the glazed cupboard does not come complete with a key although these can be sourced.
This is a solid and sturdy piece of antique furniture and will blend in with most surroundings and decor.
There are some superficial marks here and there as is to be expected, but nothing major to note.
When the fall front drops, two side supports automatically come out to support the desk top - they both then withdraw as the bureau is closed - the left hand support just needs a tiny push to fall flush…. Its just one of the quirks of the piece!
Despite its couple of issues, it remains a great piece of furniture!
